Island Pride (Solent Productions/BBC, 2018)

 

Directed and edited this documentary for 'Inside Out' during the hot summer of 2018.

 

Interweaving the real-time story of the Pride UK festival on the Isle of Wight with the hidden stories of the island's LGBT+ communities, this project has now led to two further commissions from the BBC.

 

 

Representing Disability in Channel 4 documentary programmes, 1984 - 1986

 

Co-authored chapter with Dr Jamie Clarke for Documentary and Disability (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017), edited by Catalin Bryna and Helen Hughes.

 

The chapter explores several full-length documentaries directed in the early days of Channel 4, through Interface Productions. The subjects ranged from religion, art and education to the first Paralympics in 1984. All the projects were led by people with disabilities within the company.

 

 

Rumpy Pumpy!  (Tea and Crumpets, 2016)

 

Executive Producer on new musical created by Barbara Jane Mackie and performed at the Windsor Theatre Royal and the Union Theatre, London. Exploring the true story of two women and their quest to legalise prostitution, starring Linda Nolan and Louise Jameson.

 

Rumpy Pumpy! is now being written for the screen.

 

 

 

 

Festival selection of South Home Town (2015)

 

The documentary, South Home Town, made in collaboration with Steve Hawley as part of an installation at Southampton's Showcase Gallery, was officially selected for the New York Independent Film Festival, October 2015. "A forensic examination of the city during its anniversary year".
